Sunnah Series pt 3 - Companions are the Foundation of Ahlus Sunah wal Jamaa'ah Faithful

Who are the Companions?

Beware of having bad manners; make your face one face and your call one call. For verily it has reached us that the one who has two faces and two tongues will have two tongues made of fire on the day of judgement.

Abu Shaamah (d.665H) said,

"The order to stick to the Jamaa'ah means sticking to the truth and its followers; even if those who stick to the truth are few and those who oppose it are many; since the truth is that which the first Jamaa'ah from the time of the Prophet and his Companions, radiallaahu 'anhum, were upon. No attention is given to the great number of the people of futility coming after them."

(Al-Baa'ith 'alal-Bida'h wal-Huwaadith).

The Sunnah Series - Point 3

“The foundation upon which the Jamaa'ah is built is the Companions of Muhammad May Allaah's Mercy be upon them all. They are Ahl us-Sunnah wal-Jamaa'ah, so whoever does not take from them has gone astray and innovated and every innovation is misguidance, and misguidance and its People are in the Fire.”

Traditional Creed Way Path of the Prophet Muhammad.
(peace and blessing be upon him)

This Video blog Series will go through the book of Imam Al Barbahaari.

The Sunnah - Explanation of the Creed

"Al-Barbaharee was a Sunni Islamic theologian from Iraq. In the midst of growing innovations and heresies, he was widely known for being severely harsh against the people of innovations or bidah. His books are peppered with stinging remarks that place the Shias, Qadaris, Mu'tazilis and Asharis in an extremely negative light. His concern for preserving the Sunnah, lead him to become increasingly outspoken in his later years, and ultimately led him in trouble with the authorities. He is often remembered by Salafi Sunnis as a staunch defender of Tawheed, and as one who passionately advocated that the viewpoint of the Sahaba or the companions of Muhammad, are a decisive authority when interpreting texts rather than contemporary laymen." Sunnah Series pt 2 - Hold On Clinging to the Jamaa'ah Group Faithful

Who is the Jamaah?

Al-Khatib al-Bagdadi narrates from Ibn Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: “The Jama’ah is the the Quran and the Sunnah even if you are all alone.

the Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) said in another hadith:

“They are those who will follow what I am and what my companions are upon today.”

The Sunnah Series - Point 2

“From the Sunnah is clinging to the Jamaa'ah. Whoever desires other than the Jama'ah and departs from it then he has thrown off the yoke of Islaam from his neck and he is astray, leading others astray.”

Renaissance Series - Introduction pt 2 Communicating New Ideas on Change

Is the environment conducive for change?

If we want to change the world around us we must be able to understand the way societies adjust and respond to the conditions around them. In the United States there has been dramatic change in the way we discuss and look at the changing social conditions around the world. No longer are we able to ignore the trial tribulations and turmoil going on in other countries.

Is the society open for change. Are we on the verge of catastrophe or on the brink of a new generation of education and enlightenment?

New Ideas and the concept of being able to transmit information over large distances and many people instantly. The technology has helped bring about the ability to communicate on a large scale.

The Renaissance Series - Introduction part 2

Renaissance Series - Introduction to the Clash of Civilizations pt 1

Is there a Clash of Civilizations between the East and West?

Some say that the religion of Islam is in direct opposition to modernity or civilized society. This is obviously a gross misunderstanding of the situation.

Is it possible to raise a new generation of Muslim leaders that are able to express themselves and represent their community in the United States. Not only is it possible but it is imperative. We are in dire need for a new group of individuals to rise up from the masses. A group that is determined to reconcile and mediate conflicts here in the west and all over the globe. I am not referring to a specific group or organization but a general collective attitude that leads to positive changes.

Can we create a new generation of leaders who are well educated, well read, and cultured. A Renaissance Generation to open new doors of opportunity.

The Renaissance Series - Introduction part 1

According to many in the faith based community we are facing the End of Days.

However the role of the faithful is always to encourage the positive activity of their congregates.

The Sunnah Series - Introduction Traditional Creed of Muslims Faith and Islam

What is the Sunnah?

We constantly are told that there are no Muslims to speak out. We are told there is a lack of real information about the religion of Islam. Like there are some strange secrets that the Muslim people are hiding.

Nothing can be further from the truth.

Extremism in Islam - How do We Understand the War on Terror

For some reason there is a tendency to make any Muslim who pops his head up apologize for all the evil in the world before he is allowed to speak. This so called reverse discrimination racism blow back is causing some Muslims to tire of having to explain that they are not terrorists.

Stormreport_2

Download Gathering Storm - Ibn Misr.mp3

Here is a debate that aired where we have an example of a gentleman named Ibn Misr who believes that all Muslims are lost without a chance and there fore there is no way but total war on Islam.

I try to start the conversation on a positive note but the time goes on with nothing but attacks against Islam. In vain I try to suggest that it is only a hand full of extremist that incorrectly interpret the religion and cause a bad name for the overwhelming majority of Muslims around the world.

I sometimes wonder why we do so much to help promote the interpretation and views of extremists. The glorifying of Al-Qaeda by the western media as well as the continued framing of the issues as a Global War on Terror, causes the fight to look greater than it is.

Here is an excerpt from Ibn Misr website regarding this "conversation"!

A trip in the mind of a “supposedly” moderate Americanized Muslim

Muslim don't miss a chance to say how proud they're to be Muslims, but they're ashamed to debate their Koran as if it was plagued ... I can't blame them ... It is plagued. Geert Wilders should call it  "the plague movie".

Sons of Apes and Pigs

Many people believe there is no point talking or dealing with the extreme right wing conservatives. Such as the esteemed folks at the Gathering Storm group, I disagree. Just as I believe you might not always get your point across but at least you made the attempt.

Listen to the Show

After Midnight With Rick Barber (PODCAST)
Many people are asking how we handle the War on Terror in Pakistan after the assassination of Benazir Bhutto.

The west looked like they were about to support Bhutto in full swing. All respect of Pervez Musharraf the former ally in the War on Terror was gone. With THE General declaring de facto Marshall Law in the last few months it was hard to show sympathy for his cause anymore.

Who is our "Ally" in Pakistan currently. Was it the girl that we came to the dance with?

After 9/11 we forced Musharraf to be our Ally. He accepted !

He did not want to go into the tribal areas for us and round up all the "Usual Suspects", but he was keeping things fairly calm in a destabilized part of the world, while the US Ally was engaged in endless battle in Afghanistan and Iraq.

As soon as another girl walked into the dance, we dropped Musharraf like an old HAG and went for the new Girl!
Prom_date_banner
But, Wait...the new Girl, was the old Girl.

And she was not even that good the last time.

Maybe we should have stayed with the Girl that we started this dance with...?

New Shows Starting Monday January 7th 2008

Call Live: 310-984-7600 or 631-247-9003 Code # 232885

For weeks on the HotConflict radio Show I have been discussing the situation in Pakistan.

You can check out our PAST Podcast archive and see that Pakistan has been extensively covered.

Bhutto_benazir_2 Today there has been talk that the upcoming elections will probably not happen.
After the death of Benazir Bhutto her 19 year old son Bilawal will take over as the leader of the party.
Again this looks like the continuation of a Bhutto dynasty  of the Peoples Party of Pakistan PPP.

There are all kinds of extremists who are taking credit fro the assassination of Bhutto. From Al-Qaeda to local political revolutionaries.

Was Pervez Musharraf involved in the assassination or just an indirect beneficiary?

Was the support of the Western Nations for a new election run by Benazir Bhutto too aggressive a political move? Apparently someone in Pakistan agrees and has killed Bhutto to make the point!

How should America proceed?

Listen to the conversation between myself and Jack Blood on Deadline Live News just after the former Prime Minister of Pakistan Benazir Bhutto was assassinated.

Saleem Siddiqui on Deadline News Live

Jack_blood_intro

Jack Blood and his radio show Deadline Live go against this trend. Jack Blood is on a crusade of his own. To remove the veil of ignorance and increase his audience with the light of knowledge. The motto of his show is to "Take the Red Pill", a Matrix movie reference. Those who take the red pill are people willing to face the Truth of Reality.

Contrary to original reports there appears to have been two assassins. A trigger man and a person charged with carrying out explosives detonation.

The Proposal: How We Stop the War on Terror with Islam. Part 1

How to Stop the War on Terror Series

The Goal

Everyday there is a story about Islam and the Muslim community. All over the country and the world there are stories breaking everyday. Yet the overall Muslim community in the United States is extremely lacking in representatives who can communicate their views in a coherent and meaningful way. The best way for integration and change to occur is for Muslims to be active from within their own community to better portray and explain their views and opinions.

The goal: to find alternative ways to communicate and increase the diversity of opinions available by networking of individuals in the United States and elsewhere that can be trained and organized to be effective communicators for the Muslim world.

Implementation Areas

Viral Internet Content:

With the changes in technology it is becoming increasingly clear that more and more people are getting their opinions, and forming their religious and political views from the content on the internet. Even though many people still go and sit with a local Sheikh or Imam, the next generation of Muslims is getting a lot of their information from online content. Even amongst “radicals” or “extremists” as the terms may apply, the content they are viewing is online. Many times there is no direct content between those that react violently and any other organizations or Terrorist entities. Therefore, the necessity to provide positive alternative content, both audio and video, to help diversify the online Islamic content, is clear.

The Friday Khutbah (Sermon)

The key to change in any Muslim community is a better message from the pulpit on Friday. The position of the sermon in Islam is highly respected. The stature of the person who is able to command the pulpit is paramount. Generally speaking those that promote an integration model are considered by most, to be non-practicing or not authorities in religious matters and unworthy of the pulpit. Creating a new generation of Speakers that are qualified religiously to give a sermon and can be taken as authority from the community are the keys to changing the message the community hears.

Public Relations (PR) and the Media

Currently there are only a few organizations that are able to handle themselves with the Media and who can appear relevant as subject matter experts in the US Muslim community. There is a need to organize and develop individuals who can appear as experts in various fields. Daily there is a need for guests on TV for commenting on news stories. There are radio stations talking about Islam from both the left and the right, generally without any contribution form the Muslim community. Many organizations are looking for these Muslim individuals from Think Tanks, and expert witnesses for court, to poets and artists for entertainment.

Community Services

The Muslim community all across the country is in need of services. By helping individuals on a community level to better themselves you create and foster an environment of positive social change. There is a need to provide conflict resolution services for the community. Mediation of disputes, pre-marital and marital counseling, divorce prevention and support, youth leadership and entrepreneurship are just a few. By providing services and training we help alleviate the stresses of life for the community. People who are actively involved in self improvement do not resort to acts of desperation.

Concerns

The issue of concern is always what form of Islam is going to be promoted. There is a general misunderstanding amongst many people in the United States that there are forms of Islam. How do you stop the radicals from spreading their message? You can not control the information available. The best way is to develop a better message and provide more services. To spread many different opinions from various people and let the value of the content drive the information. By promoting alternative forms of information and content you provide the opportunity for young and old to have grater choice in what they chose to adhere to. Freedom of Speech. Freedom of Press. Freedom Religion. This is the American method, with the belief that if many alternatives are available, the messages of the extremists hurting Islam will be diluted.
