Is there a Clash of Civilizations between the East and West?

Some say that the religion of Islam is in direct opposition to modernity or civilized society. This is obviously a gross misunderstanding of the situation.

Is it possible to raise a new generation of Muslim leaders that are able to express themselves and represent their community in the United States. Not only is it possible but it is imperative. We are in dire need for a new group of individuals to rise up from the masses. A group that is determined to reconcile and mediate conflicts here in the west and all over the globe. I am not referring to a specific group or organization but a general collective attitude that leads to positive changes.

Can we create a new generation of leaders who are well educated, well read, and cultured. A Renaissance Generation to open new doors of opportunity.

This is a new song titled Lord of Ramadan

This song is about Ramadan which is something that all Muslims experience together every year. No matter what country you are in or what language you speak, the month of Ramadan unites all Muslims together. This Song by COTU: Companions of True Unity is an amazing new uplifting song. The Islamic Rock Band COTU has been able to incorporate different languages in the song.

Turkish, English, German, and Arabic in one song.

This is an excellent example of the diversity in Islam and the beauty of the Deen (religion) that is practiced by Muslims all over the world.

Ramadan is the holy month of Fasting for all Muslims. Fasting ( Siyam ) is one of the Five Pillars of Islam when Muslims fast from all food or drink from sunrise to sunset.

I believe this is a group based out of Turkey. Here in the West, we always talk about Turkey being part of an overall change in the East-West relations. Turkey has always been attempting to become part of Europe and integrated into Western society.

They have not been admitted to the UN for some many years. Recently, the new Pope went to visit Turkey after there was tension when he suggested in a speech that Islam was a barbaric religion with no value. In an attempt to build bridges and mend relations with the Muslim world, Pope Benedict XVI went to Turkey.

This group, which may also be German, is an interesting phenomenon. It has a mix of different languages and styles while still being very entertaining and spiritual. It is a unique example of mixing cultures and languages to have a better communication and message. It is an excellent example of how the next generation of Dawah for Islam can be effective : Dawah 2.0 using internet technology and even liberal arts and entertainment to explain and educate people about Islam. Just a positive spiritual message with Islam as the subject is a welcome alternative. Please enjoy the video.

As a Muslim, I am always trying to better understand the world I live in - by talking to people and being genuinely interested in what they are thinking. If you want to build bridges and have less conflict in the world, you need to understand what the other person is thinking and feeling. We see this in the fields of conflict resolution and mediation. It is also the same in foreign policy and war. We need to understand how people think and what they feel.

What are the trends in technology, communication, and the way we see our world? If we can all look at things from different perspectives, maybe we can learn and come to a better understanding of who we all are.

Alternative Careers, Jobs for Muslims To Stop Terror and Win the War of Ideology in Islam

This is a series of entries on various fields- from the very common, to the most strange. I will be discussing different areas that the Muslim community will need to have experts. There are new areas of communication for prominent Muslims to represent Islam in a better light.

These concepts arise out of the idea that it is necessary for Muslims in the United States of America, Canada, Europe and other Western nations to represent Islam in their respected fields and geographic places. By highlighting visionary futuristic thinkers, philosophers, trend setters in all areas, we may be able to change the way Islam is portrayed.

Some people believe that war and conflict are inevitable and cannot be avoided. I believe that it is always the duty of those who are God-fearing to do whatever they can to bring about Peace.

There are always alternatives. This series will explore alternative careers, promoting those going out of their way to make the world a better place for Muslims and Islam.

How do We The People Win the War of Ideology and Stop Terror in Islam?

The theory of the War in Iraq has been that we are fighting a battle for the whole region. It is a struggle for the new age, a way to bring about Freedom and Human Rights. We are told in the United States that the Muslim people are lost in a barbaric religion. Supposedly, the Islamic countries need to be enlightened by the West. Obviously, the story cannot be truly so one-sided.

Where does that leave the Muslims living in America? We are finding ourselves slowly marginalized and pushed out of the process. It is necessary for the Muslims living in the Western countries to make better efforts to reach out and explain Islam in a better and truer light.

Just as this American government’s current administration suggests that it is a battle to win the hearts and minds, the duty of Muslims is the same- to spread the beauty of Islam by changing the hearts and minds of those you come in contact with.

For some, it is difficult to see Islam spread or influence in a way that they are not used to. There is a need for the next generation of leaders to step forward in the West. Here in the United States, it will be imperative for Muslims to make greater strides to promote Islam, using all kinds of new technologies and fields of study to generate greater change y being activists in all different areas.

I will be starting two new series of entries. This website Hotconflict.com was initially an experiment to see if Muslims were to speak out and be vocal, would there be a positive response? To be Muslim American and use your constitutional rights- Freedom of Speech. Freedom of Press. Freedom of Religion. Just like everything in the on-line community, you need to understand marketing and trends and how people think. However, by understanding the way we think, we can learn to come to better levels of communication and possibly even compassion.

If you are a Muslim in the United States, you have a duty to extend the message of peace to your friends and neighbors. It is your responsibility to spread the message of Islam in the best way- for you to be the most helpful to mankind and harm no one. It is by the Light of Islam that people are guided!

Where's the Beef ? Dennis Kucinich is a vegan running for President

I have been watching the Lance Armstrong Live Strong Presidential candidates forum on MSNBC. The forum has focused on the importance of health care and finding a cure for cancer. In this country where we are having a terrible problem with the health care industry, it seems natural that a candidate who is meticulous about his diet should be considered quiet influential when dealing with the subject of health.

The question then is if the American people and ready to have their Commander in Chief be someone who does not eat meat?

Although the candidate is leading by example on many fronts, is the country ready to be lead by a Vegan? it does not seem likely. Americans eat meat ! We are people who hunt and kill animals and favor a rough and rugged lifestyle. Yes is is true that most of us get our meat from the grocery store and we don't even truly know what we are eating. Sometimes it is not even actually meat, in our burgers, but still.

The truth is no matter how many time I go through the drive-thru intending to get a salad, i always end up leaving with a Big Mac! Two ALL Beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese...you know the rest !

Is there some benefit to the Vegan diet. According to Kucinich, he says he is 60 years old and his wife is 29, "make your own conclusions", he says. In a world where the Big Mac eaters like me have to actually pay attention to the hundreds of Erectile Dysfunction commercials on TV, maybe the Ohio Democrat has a point !

Earthday and Bee Colony Collapse Disorder

So many people are talking about Earthday.

I am sure everyone by now has heard that the key changes that need to be made are the ones that Sheryl Crow suggested. Using 1 ( ONE ) single square of toilet paper to save the Earth.

Well, Muslims usually use water as a means of cleaning themselves. Strange but true!

Dont laugh, it is popular all over Asia. They actually make the design with built in spray.

This looks like something Captian Kirk should use!

However, the issue I am a little bit concerned with is the disappearance of the bees all over the world. Exaggeration? I don't know. There seems to be some real trouble with this story. Reports from all over the world are coming in. Bee Colony Collapse Disorder is the term scientist are currently using until the reasons are  determined.

Just as the verses from the Quran relating to Bees call for people to "Reflect"

  This should be (sufficient) proof for people who Reflect
