Sunnah Series pt 2 - Hold On Clinging to the Jamaa'ah Group Faithful

Who is the Jamaah?

Al-Khatib al-Bagdadi narrates from Ibn Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: “The Jama’ah is the the Quran and the Sunnah even if you are all alone.

the Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) said in another hadith:

“They are those who will follow what I am and what my companions are upon today.”

The Sunnah Series - Point 2

“From the Sunnah is clinging to the Jamaa'ah. Whoever desires other than the Jama'ah and departs from it then he has thrown off the yoke of Islaam from his neck and he is astray, leading others astray.”

Traditional Creed Way Path of the Prophet Muhammad.
(peace and blessing be upon him)

This Video blog Series will go through the book of Imam Al Barbahaari.

The Sunnah - Explanation of the Creed

"Al-Barbaharee was a Sunni Islamic theologian from Iraq. In the midst of growing innovations and heresies, he was widely known for being severely harsh against the people of innovations or bidah. His books are peppered with stinging remarks that place the Shias, Qadaris, Mu'tazilis and Asharis in an extremely negative light. His concern for preserving the Sunnah, lead him to become increasingly outspoken in his later years, and ultimately led him in trouble with the authorities. He is often remembered by Salafi Sunnis as a staunch defender of Tawheed, and as one who passionately advocated that the viewpoint of the Sahaba or the companions of Muhammad, are a decisive authority when interpreting texts rather than contemporary laymen." Renaissance Series - Introduction pt 2 Communicating New Ideas on Change

Is the environment conducive for change?

If we want to change the world around us we must be able to understand the way societies adjust and respond to the conditions around them. In the United States there has been dramatic change in the way we discuss and look at the changing social conditions around the world. No longer are we able to ignore the trial tribulations and turmoil going on in other countries.

Is the society open for change. Are we on the verge of catastrophe or on the brink of a new generation of education and enlightenment?

New Ideas and the concept of being able to transmit information over large distances and many people instantly. The technology has helped bring about the ability to communicate on a large scale.

Renaissance Series - Introduction to the Clash of Civilizations pt 1

Is there a Clash of Civilizations between the East and West?

Some say that the religion of Islam is in direct opposition to modernity or civilized society. This is obviously a gross misunderstanding of the situation.

Is it possible to raise a new generation of Muslim leaders that are able to express themselves and represent their community in the United States. Not only is it possible but it is imperative. We are in dire need for a new group of individuals to rise up from the masses. A group that is determined to reconcile and mediate conflicts here in the west and all over the globe. I am not referring to a specific group or organization but a general collective attitude that leads to positive changes.

Can we create a new generation of leaders who are well educated, well read, and cultured. A Renaissance Generation to open new doors of opportunity.

The Renaissance Series - Introduction part 1

According to many in the faith based community we are facing the End of Days.

However the role of the faithful is always to encourage the positive activity of their congregates.

This Video blog Series will go through the thought and pondering of a new Renaissance.

Prostituion and Politics - Eliot Spitzer Sex Scandals for Candidates

Spitzer_and_hillary
There is a constant debate over the private lives of public people. How much do we really want to know about the candidates personal lives.

In Europe we have a common understanding about mistresses. Here in the United States we make everything into a tabloid story. The Republicans have been plagued with a non-stop stream of sexual scandals. Worse for the evangelical religious right is that many of the so called scandals were of a homosexual nature.

But how has prostitution been depicted in different cultures and societies?

War of Politics between Hillary and Obama on Race in America

Barack_obama

No matter what happens, just keep fighting and never give up. This might be the Hillary Clinton principle to win. It does not matter what the vote count is or how many delegates have already been taken by Obama, she will not give up.

Hillary This is one of the biggest assets that many of the super delegates see in a Hillary Clinton Presidency. She will do anything to win. In politics that is an admirable quality in cut throat political movements.

Barack Obama seems to be trying to rise above this type of political maneuvering. His recent speech on race is worth listening to.

Extremism in Islam - How do We Understand the War on Terror

For some reason there is a tendency to make any Muslim who pops his head up apologize for all the evil in the world before he is allowed to speak. This so called reverse discrimination racism blow back is causing some Muslims to tire of having to explain that they are not terrorists.

Stormreport_2

Download Gathering Storm - Ibn Misr.mp3

Here is a debate that aired where we have an example of a gentleman named Ibn Misr who believes that all Muslims are lost without a chance and there fore there is no way but total war on Islam.

I try to start the conversation on a positive note but the time goes on with nothing but attacks against Islam. In vain I try to suggest that it is only a hand full of extremist that incorrectly interpret the religion and cause a bad name for the overwhelming majority of Muslims around the world.

I sometimes wonder why we do so much to help promote the interpretation and views of extremists. The glorifying of Al-Qaeda by the western media as well as the continued framing of the issues as a Global War on Terror, causes the fight to look greater than it is.

Here is an excerpt from Ibn Misr website regarding this "conversation"!

A trip in the mind of a “supposedly” moderate Americanized Muslim

Muslim don't miss a chance to say how proud they're to be Muslims, but they're ashamed to debate their Koran as if it was plagued ... I can't blame them ... It is plagued. Geert Wilders should call it  "the plague movie".

Sons of Apes and Pigs

Many people believe there is no point talking or dealing with the extreme right wing conservatives. Such as the esteemed folks at the Gathering Storm group, I disagree. Just as I believe you might not always get your point across but at least you made the attempt.

Could Mitt Romney be the Best Candidate For President to Unite the Republican GOP?

Why Romney may be the Best thing for the Republican Party!Lds_temple_utah

Mitt Romney has been running and running hard in this election so far. The press and the media have constantly made it clear that they don’t think that Romney can get the nomination. Currently he has the most delegates in the early races. Romney makes the racing analogy going with his references to silver and gold medals. No doubt a Not So Subtle reminder of the Utah Olympic mess that Romney cleaned up.

2002_winter_olympics_logo

The point being Romney is out there every day running and trying in the states many of the other candidates are not even showing up in. In a world of 24  hour news and live bloggers, people like Rudy Giuliani are so out of the public dialog that you may think that was a different election that Rudy was in! NOT Romney. He is running in the race.

The press goes on to say, that he is running like that because he has the finances to keep doing it! Touche. Money makes the world go round! Yet as money and the economy become the most important issue to the electorate, we start to wonder why Romney is not taken more seriously.

For the last few weeks we have been seeing Mitt Romney with no tie and his sleeves rolled up. We are probably going to see a lot more businessman attire from now on. The major asset Romney has is his financial background. Yet he still is not getting the general support of the GOP. Why?

Mitt Romney is a Mormon. The issue of the evangelicals has become a major factor in the GOP. It is the reason why Huckabee is currently doing so well. For Mitt Romney, it has been the underlying doubt that continues to plague him. He has tried to address the issue. Even having former President George Bush Senior, introduce him for that monumental address on religion.

If you look at the current cast of the Republican Party, you do not find a very good candidate with Christian Values. Here is where the rub is! Mormons aren’t Christians.

Shooshhh…

Yet if we look at Mitt Romney’s positions on many of the social issues that are important to evangelicals, the Mormons share those same religious conservative values. Being a Muslim, I can easily say that Muslims share many of the conservative values. Issues such as those relating to abortion, and family values, or the homosexual agenda are areas of commonality between these groups.

Mitt Romney is a good candidate when it comes to executive ability, and when it comes to personal character, or family values. So the issue of his specific faith is what causes the evangelical right to stay away. Bigotry? As a Muslim in America, I feel Romney’s pain. Not that he feels mine!

Romney can unite the GOP in a strange way because he would have the support of financial upper class republicans and would also appeal to the social values of the conservatives. While being able to stay away from the negative extremist evangelical image of the “old” GOP. Has the Republican Party "EVOLVED" enough to accept a Mormon?

What does Romney do moving forward? As much as he can he has to promote new ides and programs. He should easily be able to talk about the ways to financially stimulate the US economy. He should be able to come up with new ideas to reveal along the campaign. Actual programs to promote to the financial growth of the country.

As to the national security concerns he has to take a very responsible position towards conflict resolution, economic trade and business development over seas. He can not run against McCain as the military wing of the Republican nominees. He has to continue to remain hard on terrorism, while toning back his rhetoric on Jihadism or Islamism. He has to be willing to talk about returning to the George Bush Senior foreign policy.

But without saying George Bush!

Could Mitt Romney be the best candidate to unite the Republican Party? I have a hard time not admiring everything that Patrick Buchanan ever says. With his sister Bay Buchanan being highly involved in the Mitt Romney campaign and the entire personal funds Romney has committed with, I would not bet against him!

He really does look like he came from "Central Casting"
